What position are you running for? Internal President

What made you want to run for this position?

FSA has been my home now for the past 3 years and I couldn't have asked for a better experience. Even though I’m not Filipino, this org welcomed me into its community and became my family. It’s helped me, along with the people in it has taught and given me so much and I couldn’t be more grateful. Over the past few years, my love and appreciation for this culture has grown immensely and I want to continue being an advocate and promote Filipino culture. I’ve dedicated myself to this org by becoming an officer and want to serve FSA in all ways, not just one. Ultimately, I want to encourage others to learn and appreciate this culture and help create that safe, loving community...like what this org has done for me:)

Why did you join FSA?

I joined because I found people who were similar to me and thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere FSA provided. It’s become my home away from home and now I want to take the next step to help lead it in the way I can to the best of my ability. I genuinely have FSA’s best interest at heart and will do anything to help it succeed in all ways.

Major: Biology

What position are you running for? Philanthropy chair

What made you want to run for this position?

I believe that it’s great to give more than take. not everyone has the same opportunities as us, so it would be great to help others. by volunteering or donating, it can make a huge difference to an individual(s) life. Sometimes what we want is someone else’s need. helping someone else not only helps them, but also helps yourself! I would love to help our community as well as the Filipino community because even though we’re on opposite sides of the world, we’re still tied into one community at the end. Overall, I want to be able to give back as a team because it’s the little things in life that can make big changes.

Why did you join FSA?

I joined FSA because I’ve always heard about it at my previous schools before I transferred to Texas State which made me always want to join! I also thought it was a great way to meet new people with similar backgrounds and interests as me especially since I moved about four hours away from home.
